XII - Media Literacy is Essential
Friday, November 27, 2015A Seminar about Media Literacy was held at the APC Auditorium last November 26, 2015 by the 3 respectable authors of SUBSELFIE.COM.
The first speaker, Ms. Lian Buan taught us how to effectivley write a story. There are 2 lines fom what she said that sums up her speak.
— "There are no bad stories, only bad story tellers."
— "Journalism is about making the important interesting and the interesting relevant."
These are what se taught us:
Story telling with a purpose: 5 W's & H +++
1. Content - What is the story about?
2. New - What are the value added information? Insights?
3. So what? - Why should people care?
4. And then? - What do we want to see happen?
The second speaker, Ms. Jan Nualla, spoke about deglamorizing social media.

Last but not the least, Ms. Edmallyne Remillano spoke about The Media and Advocacy Journalism.
The media's purpose is to inform, to educate, and to entertain.
